Massage Therapy is an effective hands on approach to pain management and rehabilitation. RMT’s are effective in treating and providing relief for a wide range of conditions such as migraine headaches, tendonitis, arthritis, osteoporosis, fibromyalgia, sports injuries, as well as many other common conditions related to soft tissue and joint dysfunction. There are many forms of massage such as general Swedish massage for relaxation or deep tissue massage for more painful conditions.
Fascia is a connective tissue that surrounds and encapsulates all organs, bones, nerves and tissues within the body. Myofascial release technique is a modality that addresses fascial restrictions throughout the body utilizing deep slow pressure along with active and passive movements from the patient. It helps to alleviate and remove painful restrictions throughout the entire body and realign the fascial connective tissue throughout the entire body. It also can help with restricted motion of the joints. Myofascial Release can treat
Chronic neck and back pain (upper and lower)
Chronic shoulder and hip restrictions
Carpal tunnel syndrome
Migraines and headaches
Plantar fasciitis (the most common type of heel pain)
Fibromyalgia
TMJ dysfunction
Thoracic outlet syndrome
RAPID NeuroFascial Reset, is a neurologically based, active, therapeutic technique that addresses the central nervous systems role in alleviating tension and restrictions within the body. RAPID is an evidence based manual therapy technique that can be used by all health care professionals to quickly and effectively eliminate pain in their patients.
Some of the conditions that can be quickly resolved with RAPID-NFR include:
headaches /migraines
back pain
carpal tunnel syndrome
shin splints
shoulder pain
sciatica
plantar fasciitis
knee problems
tennis/ golfers elbow
whiplash
TMJ
frozen shoulder
bursitis
bunions and arthritic joints
Chiropractic care finds and corrects bone and joint abnormalities that cause pain and function impairment. Spinal manipulation helps your body heal by improving nerve flow, blood flow, joint function, and muscle function. Your body becomes stronger, healthier, and pain is healed.
Chiropractic Care can help with:
Neck Pain
Tension Headaches
Migraine Headaches
Whiplash
Sacroiliac Pain
Shoulder Pain
Myoskeletal Alignment Techniques (MAT), a form of manual therapy that uses scientific evidence about the body and brain to inform the practitioner’s approach to solving musculoskeletal problems. As modality steeped in science, MAT continues to evolve along with the latest research on pain.
In general, MAT relies heavily on strategic deep tissue, joint stretching and muscle activation techniques for posture correction and pain relief. MAT training teaches manual therapists how the musculoskeletal and nervous systems work together, what problems lead to pain, and how to restore optimal balance and performance using guided assisted stretches and manual hands-on techniques. With a thorough understanding of the physiological and psychological mechanisms of pain, MAT therapists evaluate and address root causes rather than simply soothing symptoms.
Relieves chronic pain contributing to weak posture
Releases trapped nerves from tight muscles, joints and ligaments
Corrects atrophy, weakness and muscle amnesia in head-forward postures
Addresses breathing disorders caused by a drooping ribcage
Lessens pain sensitivity through graded-exposure assisted stretching techniques
Eliminates protective muscle guarding due to joint fixations
Improves sleep by lowering sympathetic nervous system tone
Creates dynamic, confident posture
and much more
Neural manipulation is a light touch hands on treatment modality that releases local nerve restrictions while at the same time examines the effect these local fixations have on the rest of the body, and by accessing this relationship changes the more comprehensive (Global) dysfunctional patterns. It also enhances proper functioning of the nervous system. Neural manipulation can help with various disorders such as:
Lower Back Pain & Sciatica
Headaches & Migraines
Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
Joint Pain
Digestive Disorders
Post-operative Scar Tissue Pain
Swallowing Dysfunctions
Thoracic Outlet Syndrome
Whiplash Injuries
Birth Injuries
Neuralgia & Neuritis
Tendinitis
Sprains & Traumatic Lesions
Concussion & Traumatic Brain Injuries
Visceral Manipulation is an osteopathic based technique thats a gentle manual therapy modality that asseses the structural relationships between the viscera(organs) and their fascial or ligamentous attatchements to various systems in the body. It assists in functional and strucural imbalances throughout the body including musculeoskeletal, vascular, nervous, urogenital, resipiratory, digestive, neuroendocrine and lymphatic dysfunction. The following conditions visceral manipulation can treator help with are as follows:
Whiplash
Concussion
Traumatic Brain Injuries
Bloating and Constipation
Nausea and Acid Reflux
GERD
Swallowing Dysfunctions
Chronic Pelvic Pain
Endometriosis
Fibroids and Cysts
Dysmenorrhea
Bladder Incontinence
Prostate Dysfunction
Referred Testicular Pain
Effects of Menopause
Somatic-Visceral Interactions
Chronic Spinal Dysfunction
Headaches and Migraines
Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
Peripheral Joint Pain
Sciatica
Neck Pain
Post-operative Scar Tissue
Post-infection Scar Tissue
Constipation and Gastritis
Persistent Vomiting
Vesicoureteral Reflux
The fascial distortion model is a manual therapy treatment model that treats a wide variety of soft tissue dysfuctions. The model works with categorizing injuries into 6 fascial distortions which are triggerband distortions, continueum distortions, tectonic fixations, folding distortions, Cylinder distortions and herniated triggerpoints. The therapist relies on special orthopedic testing and verbal and physical cues from the patient to determine which distortion to treat. For example someone can be making sweeping motion with their finger across their forearm which would indicate to the therapist that they are presenting with a “triggerband” distortion, in which the therapist would have the appropriate techniques to treat and fix the distortion. The Fascial Distortion Model is great for treating the following:
Rotator Cuff Strains
Whiplash
Ankle Sprains
TMJ (Temporomandibular Joint)
Iliotibial Band Syndrome
Sever’s Disease
Shin Splints
Osgood-Schlatter Disease
Low Back Pain
Sciatica
Hip Flexor / Psoas Tendinitis
Carpel Tunnel Syndrome
Achilles Tendinitis
Patellar Tendinitis
Tension Headaches / Migraines
Frozen Shoulder / Adhesive Capsulitis
Hamstring Strain / Pull
Tennis Elbow
Plantar Fasciitis
Neck Pain
Golfer’s Elbow
Knee Sprains
Hip Pain
Thoracic Outlet Syndrome
DeQuarvains Syndrome / Wrist Tenosynovitis
